THE COSMETIC REPORT
March 17, 2003

This week I'm pleased to share Debbie's latest concealer report. I know how many of you are always on the hunt for the best concealer, so I hope you find this helpful. Enjoy!

Debbie is 40 years old and lives in sunny San Diego, California. Her skintone is light and she has combination skin, with her cheeks more on the dry side. In the past her top concerns were her dark eye circles and hyperpigmentation, but both have improved with her current skincare regime. She has been know to have up to 11 foundations at one time, but she is now down to her top 3 favorites. Her previous favorite things to try were skincare and foundations, but lately is moving more into more color like eyeshadows, lipsticks and still searching for the non-waterproof mascara that lengthens, adds volume, won't flake, smudge, and lasts all day, a tall order to fill.Have a question for Debbie? Take it away, Debbie!

Concealers: An UnderCover Report
Revlon Skinlights ($8.99 at drugstore.com)
Skinlights is a nice light coverage concealer in a pen form. It helps to brighten the eye area and has an SPF of 12. For what you get, you really can't beat the price.

Jane Iredale Circle Delete ($25.00 at SkinRxClinic.com)
I really liked this when I first bought it but it ended up drying out on me and I had to throw it away. It states that it contains jojoba ester and avocado oil which should moisture under the eye, but I didn't find this very moisturizing (maybe that is what dried up). It also contains Vitamin K which is supposed to help hyperpigmentation, but I didn't find this. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide help with sun protection.

L'Oreal Feel Naturale ($8.49 at drugstore.com)
This drugstore concealer covers nicely at a good price. It contains Vitamin E in a soft, smooth, medium coverage formula. I would repurchase this concealer.

Yves St. Laurent Touche Eclat ($35.00 at NeimanMarcus.com)
First let me say I find the price for this a bit much! Okay, I said it, now I will also say this covers nicely, but for the price it should! It also helps to brighten depending on which color you choose. It comes in a pen format and feels very light in texture.

Estee Lauder Smoothing Creme Concealer ($17 at Gloss.com)
This one comes in at little tube and doubles as an eye base. It contains SPF 8 and is supposed to help with lines and wrinkles, but I didn't find that to be true. I personally find it a tad drying under my eyes but nice for eye base. I bought mine off perfumebay.com at a discounted price.

Almay Amazing Lasting Concealer ($5.89 at drugstore.com)
I really bought this for an eyebase as I read this worked great and with my oily lids I will take all the help I can get. It supposedly lasts 16 hours and contains Vitamins A and E plus has an SPF of 6. As long as you use a tiny amount it works well under the eye; if you use too much, you might experience some drying, lines or too heavy a look.

CoverBlend Multi Function Concealer SPF 15 in Beige ($15 at Skinstore.com)
This is my current favorite as it is highly opaque, smudge-resistant and retains the moisture after I apply it under my eye so I don't get any lines or drying. I would definitely buy this one again.

MMU Cosmetiques Reflect and Correct ($16.00 at MMUCosmetiques.com)
This product comes in a pencil form that is dual sided. Reflect is used as a light deflector that contains Vitamin C and the Correct end is the creamy concealer end. This product is fragrance-Free. You can use the Reflect side anywhere on your face that you want to brighten up a bit.

Thanks, Debbie! I hope you enjoyed this issue of The Cosmetic Report!
