PRODUCT REVIEWS
Dinur
report by Bobbi of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel

Since I am in my mid 50's and continually searching for that perfect product that will restore my 20-something skin (oh, yeah, I can always dream!), I am always delighted to try a new line. Dinur products are distributed by Sophia European Salon Enterprises and are imported from Israel. They have several products in their line, and I have tried 5 in the last few weeks. The products I have used are formulated for all skin types.

This was an entirely new line for me, but since beginning my testing, I have read that Halle Berry uses them and in fact, highly recommends them on her web site (Hallewood.com).

Peeling Cream ($24.95 for 2.5 oz.)
I really like this peeling cream! It is gently and very effective. It does not have added perfumes, is not heavy, and easy to remove. The best part is that it is fast. I never seem to have time to wait 10 minutes or more for the peels to dry and do their thing! The unique part of this peel is that you rub it off dry. Most of the ones I have tried, you add water to remove. It takes a little getting used to, since the first couple of times I used it, I would put it on and jump in the shower to rinse it off. You rub the dried cream in circular motion so the dead skin comes off with the peel (it comes off in little pieces, not one big piece, so peel it off over a sink). After you feel most of it is off, you can rinse with lukewarm water. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and firm.

The recommended usage is one time/week. If you have broken out skin, wait till it heals to use the peel.

Micro Complex Scrub Cleanser ($32.95 for 2 oz.)
This facial scrub is made from sea sand, and the company touts it as gentle. It is far gentler than any scrub that I have ever used. But my skin is so sensitive, that any irritation seems to cause little red bumps to appear. I tried it twice, just to make sure, and it happened both times. I have come to the conclusion that I need to stay away from scrubs entirely.

That said, I want to mention again, it is the gentlest one I have tried, and I liked the fact that is without strong fruity or perfume smells. To use, make sure your skin is clean, and rub it in circular motions for about 30 seconds, rinse off, and then use moisturizer. This one can be used a few times a week. The information I received mentioned that some women use it daily.

This scrub is formulated to enable other products to penetrate more deeply. It is formulated for all skin types. If you like scrubs, want a gentle one, formulated for all skin types, give this one a try.

Hydractive 24 ($44.95 for 2 oz.)
This is an age-defying moisturizer and super rich cream. It is formulated to provide hydrating benefits for 24 hours for all skin types. It stimulates the cell activity of the skin's epidermis by strengthening the three basic elements of the skin: sebum, intercellular lipids, and the natural moisturizing factor, which controls and regulates the hydration of the skin. It also has SPF 8 sunscreen protection. It is touted to improve the visible smoothness, firmness and hydration, which will give you the appearance of younger skin.

Use this moisturizer once a day, applying only to clean skin. Again, it does not take of lot of the cream to cover your face. Considering that it is so rich, it is amazingly light feeling once applied. I expected it to feel heavier. It is not the least bit greasy, yet the skin does feel hydrated.

It too, does not have the perfume irritants that really bother me. I have used the cream now for several weeks. Younger, well, my skin certainly feels and looks very soft and smooth. And it does look somewhat brighter. I cannot say I have seen a huge reduction in wrinkles and fine lines (maybe somewhat younger skin would react faster, or better). Dinur states that Hydractive 24 will reduce wrinkles by 62%, fine lines by 32%, smoothes and soften skin texture by 45%, and improve skin elasticity by 31%. I cannot say that has happened to me yet. But the effects I do see are nice and I will continue to use it.

HydraXtract Vitamin C Moisturizer ($44.95 for 1.7 oz)
There are several Vitamin C products on the market that are designed to help stimulate the production of collagen. HydraXtract C Moisturizer is a light lotion and I particularly like the lack of perfumes. Does that sound familiar? Just want you to know that this line is great for us sensitive skin people.

It is designed to protect the cells from UVA/UVB rays and the harmful effects of the environment. And, it is designed to help with hydration and smoothness. It is to be used in combination with the 24 hr. moisturizer (Hydractive 24). Instructions from Dinur recommend using HydraXtract first, and then apply the Hydractive 24 for optimum benefits. I found my face a little greasy using both creams.

I like this as a light moisturizer. It is my favorite of the two creams, but it could be because it is summer and this one is the lightest feeling on your skin. I play a lot of golf, so I don't want anything heavy.

Again, I cannot say that miracles have occurred in reference to erasing wrinkles and fine lines. But, my skin looks clear and bright and it is very smooth and soft. I do plan to continue using it.

Micro Complex Eye Restore Gel ($34.95 for 1.0 oz.)
The one place I show my age is around my eyes. I have some lines and dark circles and occasional puffiness. I have tried many different brands. This one is the greatest! It is the best I have tried.

Micro Complex is designed, with daily use, to hydrate and rebuild the thin, fragile skin around the eyes. The formula for this gel includes Matrix Extract, hyaluronic acid, and Derma Vitamin Complex. The Matrix Extract contains proteins that absorb water and form an insulating layer on the skin, making the skin around your eyes thicker. (According to Dinur, this is what makes the circles fade.) It takes only a very small amount of this clear gel that can be used morning and night. It also has no perfumes added. You can feel it tighten. I can actually see my dark circles fading (not gone yet, but going), and the skin around my eyes is smoother and thicker. I still don't look 20 something, but it is a great improvement! This is my favorite product in the line.

The price of these products is a little hefty, but they are offering some specials right now that you might want to check out. You can find Dinur products at Sophia-Online.com, or Dinur.net and DinurSkin.com. All three will access the shopping site.
