I am a firm believer in finding the perfect foundation for your skin. I think that with the right foundation you really don't need a lot of other makeup, but the trick is finding the right formula and finish for your skin. Having said that, I am also a firm believer in sampling foundation for a day or two before you buy the full size. So you can imagine how happy I was to see the offer for a free full-size foundation in Lucky magazine!

The foundation I received is a new Maybelline powder-finish formula with SPF15, oil-free and fragrance-free, in the "sandy beige" color. After shaking the bottle well to "activate" the ingredients as directed, I squirted a small amount onto my fingertips. The foundation comes out as a light, easy-to-spread liquid which dries to a powder finish. The powder finish was just enough to make my skin look matte without looking like I was dusted with flour! And of course I didn't need to use a finishing powder, so it's a bit of a timesaver as well! I have a little trick of dotting extra foundation under my eyes as a kind of concealer, so I tried doing that with Wonder Finish but the powder finish made it look a little TOO dry. The formula gives a natural finish with a fair amount of coverage, and I did notice that my t-zone was not as shiny as with other foundations, which is always a bonus! Maybelline, it seems, is always coming up with a new type of foundation in order to keep on the cutting edge more than almost any other cosmetics company. I think Wonder Finish is a good product for the money for an everyday foundation for normal-to-oily skins.
