I was contacted by NIORA through my email at Cosmetic Connection, and asked if I would like to try their line of products for adult acne. After reading the information they sent, I decided it was worth a try. I have been using the product for cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing with their products for over 6 months. Previous to beginning with their regimen (which is incredibly simple), I had been experiencing lots of problems with my skin breaking out.

This product is perfect for adult women with acne because it moisturizes the skin while treating acne. It doesn't strip the skin of all moisture, as some products do. It also helps to reduce lines, wrinkles and age spots.

It works directly with the two physical symptoms that cause acne: excess oil and hyperkeratinization (over production of undetached dead skin), without disrupting the flow of oils and moisture that protect the skin.

Alpha Clear is a two-step process:
Step One: Cleanse with Alpha Cleanser. This cleanser blends jojoba and Alpha Hydroxy acids with soy lipid/proteins complexes. It does not foam a lot and it took me a while to become comfortable with the fact that my skin did not feel squeaky-clean. What I have realized is that this is the way my skin should be. I was over stripping it, and complicating my problems! It rinses off well, and my skin feels soft. It takes about a quarter's worth for your face and neck. It has a pleasant, natural smell.

Step Two: Apply Alpha Clear Exfoliant. This is a solution of natural fruit acids that is applied immediately following cleansing. This helps complete the exfoliation process. This can be applied by pouring a small amount into your hand and rubbing on the skin, or with a cotton ball. Niora recommends using your hands. It takes very little. It leaves the skin moisturized, which stops the reactive oil production and flaking of the skin. The oiliness is balanced. It has a nice pleasant smell, no perfumes.

With this process my acne is controlled. My skin is cleansed, toned and exfoliated. Yes, it worked. My skin is great! The breakouts have stopped and my skin is smooth, not too oily, and the age spots are now eliminated.

One set of products lasts about three months, so it is not terribly expensive. The best part is that is has dramatically improved my skin condition! I would recommend this for younger and older women, who want to get their skin in balance.

To receive additional benefits, Niora recommends the use of Alpha C Serum and Alpha Herbal Eye Therapy. These are touted as "the most powerful anti-aging combination available: natural fruit acids and collagen-stimulating patented topical Vitamin C."

The natural fruit acids exfoliate the skin, and help it become brighter. It helps reverse wrinkling and fades age spots. The Vitamin C easily penetrates the new tissue. Vitamin C helps to create moisture and hydration of the skin.

Alpha C Serum (1oz. $28.50)
Alpha C Serum is a skin nourishing concentrated serum that moisturizes and hydrates the face, neck and chest. For best results, use after cleansing and toning, at least twice daily. Use a very small amount, as a little goes a long way. Alpha C may be used under makeup, sunscreens and moisturizers. It has a pleasant natural smell and leaves the skin feeling smooth and definitely not oily. I really like this serum and think it has added to the benefits of Alpha Clear.

Alpha Herbal Eye Therapy (.5 oz. $16.99
Alpha Herbal Eye Therapy is a hydrating serum for reducing wrinkles, age spots and puffiness. It is safe for sensitive and acne prone skin. It takes only one small pump for both eyes, and it doesn't flake, feel heavy or sticky. Use at least twice daily, after cleansing and toning.

This is the one product with which I have not seen BIG results. However, I have yet to find anything that helps the wrinkles that are already there. My eyes are a bit smoother, and it doesn't irritate my skin, but the deeper wrinkles and dark circles are still there. I like the product, and continue to use it, because it doesn't irritate my skin as many other products do. Perhaps I am asking too much of eye creams. A miracle? YES!
