DHC
report by Joi of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
I recently tried several products from the DHC skincare line, a skincare line from Japan that is now distributed out of San Francisco. I really like most of the things I tried. On the whole, they were simple, clean, and did the job.
Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover ($15.00 for 3.3 oz.)
This remover didn't irritate or dry my skin, and it didn't leave my skin feeling greasy. All of my eye makeup and mascara (non-waterproof) came off easily. I liked that is has no fragrance or color, very natural and basic.
Mild Soap ($12.00 for 3.1 oz.)
I also really liked this product. The translucent bar is fragrance free, perfect for in the shower, and left my skin feeling "squeaky" clean. It had a good lather, and my skin didn't feel dry. A good basic facial soap.
Clean Finish Lotion ($12.00 for 6 oz.)
I think that this lotion smelled too much of rubbing alcohol, but it did the job. Although I didn't notice that my pores were more "refined", as the advertisements claimed, I never really expected that. This is a clear, basic toner.
Light Moisture ($24.00 for 3.3 oz.)
Designed for "normal to oiler skin", this lotion was not greasy, and had no odor. Although the brochure said it would "refresh and stimulate" my skin, I can't say that I felt it did, but it felt like a nice, light, simple lotion. Also, my skin didn't look greasy an hour after I put it on.
Facial Scrub ($14.00 for 4.9 oz.)
I loved this scrub! DHC says it's geared towards "everyone's skin" although I think some sensitive skin types might find the fine apricot granules a bit too harsh. Again, it left my skin feeling "squeaky clean," which I liked. It was slightly pink, with no noticeable fragrance.
Deep Cleansing Facial Mask ($24.00 for 2.1 oz.)
This mask looks like a typical mud/clay mask - green/blue in color, with no fragrance. I didn't notice that my skin had restored "clarity and brightness", but then, I never
believe that hype. It simply felt good, and my skin looked clean. The mask came off easily with water and I didn't need a washcloth to scrub it from my skin.
