This week we're taking a look at what I consider beauty
accessories - eyelash curlers, hand creams, nail treatments.
When my skin is less than perfect and I don't feel like wearing
much makeup - Gasp! Yes, it's true! - I know I can always count
on the perfect red nail polish or a nicely scented hand cream to
make me feel more pulled together.
Lashpro eyelash curlers ($19)
I've noticed lately that my lashes are becoming straighter at
the base, without the same curl they had just a few years ago. I
never used to use an eyelash curler because my lashes curved
wonderfully on their own. I'm sure just like for many of you,
the eyelash curler has been a mystery to me, a strange looking
device surely meant for nothing but eyelid torture. I was
skeptical when I received the new Lashpro and Petite Lashpro
from my friends over at Beautycafe.com, but after a little
practice and following their very helpful directions, I am curvy
again! Lashpro has a soft, beveled pad surface that doesn't
crimp your lashes into a stiff 90 degree angle like curlers do.
Lashpro comes in two models, the original and the petite.
Personally, I find the Petite Lashpro easier to work with. It is
designed for smaller eyes or if you want more precision by
curling small sections of lashes, but I like it because of its
open design (check out the photo at
lashpro.com and you'll see what I mean).

Garment Guard Disposable Underarm Shields ($10.95 for 3 pack; $24.95 for 12 pack)
I don't make a habit out of reviewing things that have nothing
to do with beauty, but for this week's issue, I will make an
exception. My friends over at 310, makers of some pretty incredible and completely natural face masks, sent me their latest offering, these self-adhesive clothing protectors. Garment Guards stick to the inside of your favorite shirt and keep it looking fresh and perspiration-free.
If you are sick of retiring your favorite white shirts because
of yellow stains, Garment Guards are for you. They are thin and
very soft so you don't feel anything uncomfortable. At the end
of the day, you just pull them out and throw them away. I love
these things! I wonder if they'll sell them by the case? :)

Fresh Milk Hand Cream ($16.50 for 3oz tube)
In addition to being a makeup diva, product reviewer, beauty
adviser and small business owner, I am a domestic goddess. My
day is not complete without washing my hands about a million
times, and I have the dry, flaky skin to show for it. I'm sure I
could use any old lotion to try to relieve it, but I want
something special, something that smells nice and feels rich and
silky. Fresh Milk Hand Cream in Daisy Milk is my latest find and
I love it! Shea butter, glycerin, milk proteins, aloe vera,
calendula and comfrey extracts make this a pretty terrific hand
cream. Now if they would only make it in the other Milk scents
like Chocolate...
Fresh Milk Hand Cream comes in Daisy Milk and Iris Milk. Find
out more at fresh.com.
lippmann collection cuticle oil ($18)
I have recently discovered the benefits of cuticle oil for keeping my hands softer and my nails in better condition. This one from the lippmann collection has the most delicious coconut aroma - definitely not for people who are trying to stop a nail biting habit! It's nicely moisturizing for hands and nails, and smells delish. You can find it online at ibeauty.com
.
iNNOXA Smoothing Base and Intense Radiance Top Coat ($12 each)
I was attracted to iNNOXA because of their teeny, tiny bottles -
so cute! Not the best reason to buy something, but it turns out
the polishes are very nice. The base creates a nice matte finish
that helps the colored polish last longer, then the top coat
leaves a nice, shiny finish. I also found the top coat to be
very quick drying, even though it doesn't claim to be the
quick-dry type. My latest manicure lasted well over a week with
no touch-ups, something I can't say about other base and top
coats I've tried. You can find iNNOXA online at ibeauty.com
