It's that time of year again when we have to pull ourselves
together and fight the temptation to buy those great little
cosmetic gift sets for ourselves instead of other people! Here
is my personal gift guide to a few of the coolest goodies for
gift-giving - for yourself or the cosmetic enthusiasts on your
list :)
Eve.com Hanukkah gift set ($75)
It is so rare that any store actively recognizes any holiday in
December but Christmas, so I was personally thrilled to see this
Hanukkah-specific gift set on eve.com. What is so clever is not
just the collection of products, but that each item is
individually boxed, wrapped in glossy white paper, tied with a
blue "eve.com" ribbon, and tagged with a night-specific
"to/from" card for each of the 8 nights. Here's what the lucky
recipient gets (listed by night):
- Tony & Tiny nail polish in Sociable (a light, pearly cream-pink)
- Lorac Lip/Cheek Tint in Red/Brown (sheer color for lips or cheeks)
- CK One Body Massage
- Essentiel Elements Body Bar in Lavender
- B'Box Eye Tips eye shadow in Violet/Pewter
- California North and O2xygen fragrance set
- Eve.com purse-size manicure kit
- philosophy Footnotes pumice foot scrub
My personal favorites are the Lorac lip tint (rich color but
weightless feel), Tony & Tina polish, and Essentiel Elements
bath bar (also comes in Rosemary).
Three Custom Color Specialists Be Seen Delux and 3C Bag
($48.50)
Leave it to 3C to come up with yet another cool lipcolor and bag
set. This one is perfect for glamming it up this holiday season;
it comes with Futura Lipstick and Futura Blush, plus an added
bonus - "Matador" nail polish (a deep red/magenta) from Delux
Beauty. The lipstick and creme-to-powder blush are a sheer
magenta with a platinum shimmer (from the Century in Red
palette), and the Matador polish is a to-die-for deep red.
The limited edition drawstring bag is also a soft magenta,
like the makeup colors, with delicate gold/orange embroidery.

BeneFit Tiny Tin ($30)
If it's shimmer you're after for the holidays or for New Year's,
this is a great little collection with Mr. Frosty white frost
pencil, Lightning gold iridescent body lotion, High Beam
shimmery pink face highlighter, and Twinkle Gel clear face and
body gel with pink, aqua and silver glitter. I surprise myself
to say that the Twinkle Gel is my favorite of the bunch -
definitely fun and festive!

smell THIS holiday smells ($8 each)
If you are looking for just a little something for a friend,
these new roll-on fragrances from smell THIS smell good enough
to eat! As usual, smell THIS has done an amazing job of
recreating memorable aromas like Santa's Cookies, Christmas Shop
Smell, and Warm Milk (my favorite).

Stila Pocket Palette ($36)
I've always liked Stila's Lip Shines, but those little aluminum
tubes can get messy (easy to squeeze out too much, really needs
a lipbrush for easier application). Enter the new Pocket Palette
- four Lip Shines packed in a square palette box with a very
handy lipbrush. You can choose from Quad #1, sheer pinks and
roses, or Quad #2, natural nudes and bronzes.
ingredients.com bath and body products
Need some ideas for someone who's hard to buy for? All you need
to know is a single scent they prefer, like jasmin or vanilla,
and you can find a great gift at ingredients.com. They have
shower gel, candles, body lotion, scented soaps, fragrance
sprays and more in scents like green tea, orange blossom,
lavender, peppermint and grapefruit. I have tried a few products
so far and like the vanilla scent spray ($24.50) and lavender
candle ($14) the best.
