THE COSMETIC REPORT
December 27, 1996

Happy Friday from the Cosmetic Connection!

As a woman with an online cosmetics venture, I am always excited to talk to other women who are making a place for themselves on the Internet. This week I had the pleasure of trying a new skin care product from one of the many women-owned cosmetics businesses online.

Lite Cosmetics is based out of Oceanside, California, and specializes in skin care for seniors and for super-sensitive skin. I was intrigued by their super-antioxidant cream, "Revive", and what it could really do for the skin. It contains an anti-oxidant called pycnogenol, which is supposed to be 50 times more powerful than vitamin E and 20 times more powerful than vitamin C against free radicals. When my jar came in the mail, I wasn't sure what to expect when I tried it. Would I see results immediately, and if so, what would those results look like?

After using the cream for a week, I can't say that I look any younger, but my skin does look smoother and much less dry and flaky. My usually weather-sensitive skin felt soft and protected even in the worst Oregon wind. It looks so smooth and even-toned that I have felt comfortable to go out without makeup on several occasions! At just under $15 a jar, if you have very sensitive skin that is also dry or normal-to-dry, or if you are interested in the benefits of anti-oxidants, this cream is worth checking out. For more information on Lite Cosmetics and anti-oxidants, you can visit their web site at http://www.seniorcosmetics.com

In other product-testing news, since trying Aveda's Skin/Firming Toning Agent, I have really enjoyed using a toner in spray form. This week I got the opportunity to try Aveda's other spray toner from their All Sensitive line. I enjoyed testing the other All Sensitive products, and this toner was equally calming and soothing to my skin. It feels cool and refreshing, it works great as a base before moisturizer, and it has no offensive fragrance. If you are an Aveda fan and have sensitive skin, I would definitely recommend taking a look at this toner.

We had another great month of guestbook entries here at Cosmetic Connection! December's Beauty Pack drawing winners are... Jackie Kwan of Quincy, Massachusetts, and Terry Cornelius of Chicago, Illinois! Congratulations! If you would like to win your very own Cosmetic Connection Beauty Pack full of great samples, just sign the guestbook and you are automatically entered.

As we approach 1997, I want to thank you all for the wonderful stories you've shared with me, and to wish you the best for a happy and healthy new year.
