Marissa rediscovers Merle Norman
Back when I was in high school and then again as a new mom, I discovered the wonders of Merle Norman Cosmetics. Unfortunately, it's not a well-known establishment here in the North Northeast. Only when I went back home for a visit and spotted my sister's lippy did I remember that I liked their cosmetics and they were reasonable priced, too. Well, you know me, the cosmetic junkie that I am, I couldn't let a trip back home go by without a visit! And a little product or two... or three... then I discovered a Merle Norman Studio near where I shop at home, so of course I had to buy a little product or two... or three...
My favorite of all favorites in their Lip Pencil Plus, lipstick on one side and liner on the other. There are so many colors to choose from, you could be there all day trying them on. I picked up Sparkling Wine and Spice Sachet, both which are neutral enough for most skin tones. The liners are thick which I like and the lipsticks are creamy for a pencil - AND THEY LAST! Not yucky, tacky last, but long lasting enough that you can drink a cup of coffee and have your lips looking good. Eggplant is also a good fall choice - purply/plum! They also have their own version of the juicy tubes called Luxiva Delites; check out Sangria, a great fall berry with enough shimmer to look sexy.
I didn't shy away when they gave me samples of their skincare line, and let me tell you, their version of microdermabrasion is better than any other line, hands down! It is called Luxiva Micro-Refiner and it's all it's cracked up to be and more. You only need a small dab on both hands, then rub on your face, avoiding the eye and lip area, and the next thing you know, it's heating up on your face. It's such an interesting feeling with the heat that it doesn't sting or feel scratchy on your face at all. Massage for a minute and rinse off. I had a small pimple that just wouldn't go away and after my very first use it was gone, plus it's been two days and no breakout. You only do this one to two times per week, it's that powerful. I can't wait till Friday, the next time I can use this product.
One more product to put on your radar is their palettes. The fall palettes have eye shadows and lipstick/glosses and their normal palettes have eye shadows and blushes. I've never felt blushes and shadows so soft. Their powder blush just glides on your face, never looking chalky or fading after a few hours.
Merle Norman Cosmetics are located all throughout the US. Go onto their website merlenorman.com to find a location near you. I guarantee you'll like what you try!
