Heather marvels at her makeover

Makeovers at cosmetic counters and boutiques can be so much fun - learning new tricks, trying new colors - but I never feel like myself when I gaze into that handheld mirror at the end of the transformation. Blush is usually too bright, eye shadow is too dark or sparkly, lips are oozy bubblegum pink or some nasty shade of "nude", and, my personal favorite, mascara slathered on so thick and gloppy that I seriously look like I have a tarantula on my face. This is not a look I will purchase and recreate at home.

Now imagine a completely different experience. I had the opportunity to meet Susan Posnick, creator of Colorflo mineral makeup, at The Blush Beauty Bar here in Portland. What a treat! Not only is she a lovely, warm person, but she really knows her makeup. Using just her Colorflo mineral foundation in M4, Colorcorrect pencil in C1, and two shades of Colorme face color (Ginger and Lily), Susan gave me that naturally flawless look I always strive for, the one that brings out all your best features without looking like you loaded on tons of makeup or spent an hour in front of the mirror. It's also easy for me to do at home, and it only takes a couple of minutes in the morning. Thank you, Susan!
