Brita, 45, is a magazine writer living in Chicago whose interest in make-up borders on the obsessive. She has fair coloring, light eyes and brown hair, and normal-to-dry skin.
Here are some of Brita's favorites:
Jason's Fresh Start Cleanser for normal skin (about $8 for 8 oz.) - clean, gentle, efficient and cheap.
Signature A Five Essentials Cream (alpha hydroxy, sunscreen and moisturizer) and Eye Cream (the two containers fit together). I do believe! No scent and easily absorbed. Not so rich it causes breakouts.
Exfoliator: Zia Even Smoother or Jason Pineapple-Papaya Scrub. Both of these are fabulous - the equivalent of getting a facial.
Masks: Zia Camphor and Moisturizing masks, aloe vera, yogurt, pineapple, the aspirin mask. Nice, soothing, affordable pampering.
Emollient: Ziasomes, an essential oil formula for when my skin is parched in winter.
FaceUp New York (an online brand); wet/dry base doubles as
concealer and eyeshadow base along with foundation. Also Sonia Kashuk's
wet/dry base. Both of these are fabulous and go on in about three seconds. Totally mistake-proof.
