As the former beauty director of Cosmopolitan Magazine (I held that post for ten years), I know how you want to look this Valentine's day...sexy. This is why I created sephora.com's Aspects of Love feature - six alluring new makeup looks interpreted by famed makeup artist James Kaliardos (whose work regularly appears in Allure, Vogue and other fashion magazines). Each look is themed around a different "love" emotion - so if you're looking for romance, seduction or sensuality, you'll find the perfect makeup effect, along with easy-to-follow how-to instructions and the ability to purchase the products featured (if only relationships were this easy...). We've photographed the looks on identical twin models (Dessi and Alexandra of Elite) to show you how doable it is to make yourself over with makeup, and how many different beauty personas you can take on. Here is a look at three of the six looks:
Romance
Rose-petal pink lips and cheeks paired with softly swept hair transform you into the heroine of his fantasies--a modern-day Juliet for the new millennium.
Seduction
A match made in heaven? Team fiery red lips (a la Marilyn Monroe) with shimmery lavender lids and even Superman will be weak to your deliciously devastating advances.
Sensuality
Glistening, sun-kissed cheeks, sheer and shiny, just-licked better-than-naked lips and muted metallic eyes are the new way to go nude. Soft, flushed and naturally candlelit, it's the way afterglow was meant to be.
