This week I'm pleased to share Debbie's "Oh, Those Beautiful Lashes!" mascara report. Enjoy!

Debbie is 40 years old and lives in sunny San Diego, California. Her skintone is light and she has combination skin, with her cheeks more on the dry side. In the past her top concerns were her dark eye circles and hyperpigmentation, but both have improved with her current skincare regime. She has been know to have up to 11 foundations at one time, but she is now down to her top 3 favorites. Her previous favorite things to try were skincare and foundations, but lately is moving more into more color like eyeshadows, lipsticks and still searching for the non-waterproof mascara that lengthens, adds volume, won't flake, smudge, and lasts all day - a tall order to fill.   Have you ever bought a beauty product that was so frustrating? There must be thousands of types of mascaras out there, so why is it so hard to find just one that you love?! I personally have tried almost every brand, wand, and formula out there! Quite frankly I am exhausted, disappointed and if I added up all the money I have shelled out just on mascaras, I would probably have my Visa card revoked!

Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara ($12.50)
I had never tried Clinique products, and thought the price wasn't bad for a department store mascara. I wanted to buy the Long and Pretty mascara but the sales associate talked me into trying this one and said she thought it would give longer lashes. I found it to give a nice dark pigment, some length, but it's a wet formula and I experienced flaking and wearing of the bottom lashes. I was disappointed and so I returned it to try the Long and Pretty.

Clinique Long and Pretty Mascara ($12.50)
The pigment was not as dark as Lash Doubling, and I needed two coats, and it still wasn't dark enough for me. This formula was also very wet and didn't hold a curl. I didn't think this gave me as much length as Lash Doubling mascara. My second attempt at another Clinique mascara met up with flaking once again, and disappointment.

L'Oreal Featherlash ($7.49)
I had read a couple of great reviews and thought it was time to give this one a try. A bit of a wet formula, but Featherlash gave me great separation. The color wasn't as intense, more of a natural look. I experienced flaking and wearing on lower lashes, so that was the end of this mascara too! (I gave it to my 17 year old who didn't like it due to clumping.)

L'Oreal Long Lash ($7.34)
I tend to buy waterproof formulas as they general won't flake, smear or wear off during the day. This formula was on the wet side, but gave me great length! Some of the best so far! But much to my surprise as this was waterproof, I got flaking!

Maybelline Lash Discovery ($6.94)
What a little gem this mascara turned out to be! The wand is so tiny, who would think it could do so much? But due to that tiny wand you can reach lashes that you didn't know you had. It lengthens and separates, but doesn't add volume so if you need fullness then this mascara probably isn't for you. The first time I tried this they hadn't come out with waterproof yet and I experienced smearing and flaking, but once I tried the waterproof version I was hooked. This is one of the first wands that could easily access my bottom lashes with no struggle.

Lancome Flextencils ($20)
I am very picky when it comes to mascaras and I hadn't been a fan of Lancome mascaras in the past. I had returned two already, but for some reason I had a feeling this was going to be a winner. I read some reviews that had no complaints so I thought it high time I try this new one.

The wand bristles go up and down and have no conformity to them which is probably why the separation is so great with this mascara. The pigment is nice and dark and doesn't leave my lashes stiff or brittle like other Lancome mascaras have done. I did experience a bit of flaking from the bottom lashes, but it was pretty hard to detect. It wore all day and come off fairly easily at night. If you want dramatic full lashes with great separation, then stop here!

(Note: Lancome Flextencils is noted for its lengthening, and most do experience this, however I did not notice a lot of lengthening, but it did hold a curl.)
