Fruit Frappe bath product reviews from Denise
Upper Canada Soap & Candle Makers is a Canadian bath and beauty company that has been around since 1969. Over the years, their product line has been expanded to over 2000 different bath and beauty products, including many specialty items. I can't believe this is my first experience with their products! I've been making up for lost time and having fun with some products from their new Fruit Frappe line. These products smell scrumptious, are packed with nourishing ingredients, and the fresh fruit scents are perfect for the hot days of summer. And the cool thing is that once you pick your favorite scent, there are many (approximately 20) different products you can purchase in that scent! The wonderful fruity scents are long-lasting, but aren't overpowering, which is a bonus. The following are some of my favorite new finds.
Body Glow Shimmer Moisturizer ($9.00)
I fell in love with this light body moisturizer in the Pomegranate Coconut scent. It's not too sweet and fruity, and yet not too tanning-lotion coconut-y either. The lotion contains Shea and cocoa butter to soften and nourish, while leaving your skin with a subtle golden shimmer. I use this moisturizer on a daily basis, and I think Pomegranate Coconut is my favorite scent in the line.
Frosted Sugar Scrub ($15.00)
Seriously, who doesn't love a pink sugar scrub? I've been using the Frosted Sugar Scrub in the Pink Grapefruit Tangelo scent, and I am very fond of it, both because of the wonderfully tangy, but not overpowering scent, and also for the mild abrasive action of the real sugar crystals. I will tell you, I prefer body scrubs with a little bit more "juice" in them. The sugar crystals in this scrub are not swimming around in essential oils, as is the case with some other body scrubs. But it's clear once the scrub starts to dissolve on your skin that there are plenty of good, moisturizing ingredients soaked into the fun pink sugar. This scrub leaves my skin feeling smooth, but not greasy, which is a nice change from the more "juicy" scrubs.
Whipped Body Souffle ($15.00)
The Whipped Body Souffle delivers tons of moisturizing power without feeling sticky or heavy, thanks to a special aerating process. I tried Souffle in the same yummy Pink Grapefruit Tangelo scent as the cool pink sugar scrub above. I love this moisturizer, and use it often. It leaves my skin feeling super-moisturized and sweet-smelling. No wonder - it's packed with great, natural ingredients like olive oil, Shea, mango, and orange butters.
Freshly Squeezed Shower Gel ($10.00)
I don't use shower gels regularly in the shower. I'm not sure why, but it might because I'm not normally awake enough to facilitate the multi-step process of getting out the puff, squeezing the gel onto it, and then lathering up. I can barely manage the grab-the-bar-of-soap-and-rub routine. But I must say, the bright, tangy Pineapple Guava scent of this aptly-named Freshly Squeezed Shower Gel had my eyes popping open in a hurry. It makes tons of yummy-smelling lather, and is enriched with Vitamins A, C, and E, as well as olive oil to leave your skin soft and smooth. Morning doldrums, beware!
Not ever one to neglect my lips, I jumped on Lip Sorbet ($5.00) in my favorite Pomegranate Coconut scent. The sorbet is a delicious-smelling, raspberry tinted, convenient squeezable lip gloss that is great for everyday use. My lips are always left soft and shiny. I also tried the Lip Butter ($7.00) in Key Lime Passion Fruit (yum!). This product isn't as convenient as the Lip Sorbet because it comes in a small pot, but it has the added bonus of "plumping action." Lip Butter is designed to moisturize and enhance the color and shape of the lips, using essential oils. Maybe if I keep applying... Angelina Jolie lips, here I come!
The Fruit Frappe collection also features body butters, cooling body spritz, and frothy bubble bath, just to name a few. It is a high quality, fun, and seriously reasonably-priced line of bath and body products that I think anybody would enjoy. If you live in the New York City area, you can check out the line at your local Duane Reade store. For the rest of us, we can purchase Fruit Frappe and other products by Upper Canada Soap & Candle Makers at Amazon.com.
