Giorgio Armani Cosmetics
report by Debbie of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
What do Lancome and Armani have in common? L'Oreal owns them both. Armani is definitely top of line in products and price. Here are quite a few products I have been lucky enough to try, as Armani is not readily available to all. I had actually received these products before I saw the line in person in Las Vegas.
Luminous Silk foundation ($42)
There are 14 shades of this oil-free, very sheer, long wearing, hydrating foundation. One small pump covers the entire face, so even though the price tag is high, it will last forever. If you need and like more than a light coverage, than this foundation would not be for you, but if you want a luminous, sheer, lightweight coverage and the price tag doesn't scare you, take a look!
Fluid Sheer ($42)
This is an ultra-light sheer illuminating fluid that you can wear alone or with foundation, to highlight or to correct your skintone, and each one will give your skin a radiant look. I have tried 6 of the 9 shades and my favorite two are #3 (a bronzer) and #4 (a blush color). A tiny bit goes a long way and this will also last you forever. The bronzer shade is especially nice if you have very light to light skin, as it does not overwhelm your natural skintone. The #4 blush color is very natural and highly pigmented, so start out with a light touch. This is definitely one of my favorite Armani products.
Shine lipstick ($21)
I personally feel this is a lot for a lipstick, but this one gives a very smooth texture, with a glossy look that wears quite well. I have #15, a nude shade. The texture feels so great on and the glossy shine adds a certain extra to this top of the line lipstick. It is like you have a lipstick and gloss all rolled into one. I like this lipstick enough to re-purchase, despite the high price tag.
Eyeshadow ($22)
I choose #1, a midnight shade, from 27 shades to pick from and it seems the color selection is growing. They are made with a micro-fil technology which makes this eyeshadow weightless, blendable, silky, crease resistant, long wearing and highly pigmented (tread lightly). I also use this product as an eyeliner and it looks beautiful.
Smooth Silk eye pencil
This was my least favorite and a disappointment to me. The color started to fade half way through the day and by the end of work, most of the color was gone, leaving my eyes looking tired. On one end is the liner and the other end is a smudger. I personally can't recommend this liner.
Armani seems elusive for most, but you can call Michael at the Bellagio in Las Vegas at 702-893-8327. He is such a doll and can help with colors/shades over the phone. I am sure he would be more than happy to mail a catalog to you.
