BeneFit
report by Anne of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel

BeneFit is a cosmetic line that likes to have fun, and that's exactly what my sister and I had at Henri Bendels recently at a BeneFit makeup event. The national artist in from San Francisco is very talented and has a great personality.

BeneFit has a lot of interesting and unique products, but for our make-overs, the artist concentrated on the basics. Clean Sweep is a toner-like cleanser that was gentle to my oily skin and really took off all my make-up. It could be a great product to have available when you can't use your favorite wash-off cleanser. He then used Lemon-aid to prime the eyes, and Boi-ing concealer. Both are heavy products, but my eye shadow make it through the day with the help of the "Lemon-aid" base.

For foundation, he applied Sheer Genius, a very sheer, light powder. It felt weightless on my skin and reminded me somewhat of MAC's Blot Powder.

The blush was an interesting loose powder called Color Wash, which is applied with a fantail brush for a soft look. It seemed messy to me, but it does give a very soft look.

With lots of eye shadows to choose from, he used "Bikini" (frosted) and "In the Nude"(matte) with a soft bone (matte) as a base color for a very soft neutral look. He made my eyes pop with "Meow" eye pencil. The eye and lip pencils are very soft in texture, and the neutral colors are meant to be used on either lips or eyes. If you are a pencil person, BeneFit definitely has something for you! There was a nice variety of lipsticks to choose from. He used "Reckless", a "malted mauve" that is very different from my usual MAC Twig. My 21 year old sister loved it on me! It was a very different look! He advised brown mascara for daytime, which didn't seem to lengthen my lashes much.

BeneFit's brushes are very reasonably priced and worth a look. My favorite is the "Get Bent" eye liner brush. It makes using powder as liner easy. All in all, BeneFit is a fun line with some interesting products.
