If for no other reason, you have to love BeneFit just for the names of their products! "Boo Boo Zap" and "Buh-Bye" blemish treatments, "Honey Snap Out of It" face scrub, and "touch me then try to leave...Cream" are some of my favorites. My usually unflappable husband will spot a BeneFit bottle or jar somewhere in our home and ask me: "What the heck is this stuff?"

The latest editions to BeneFit's zany collection of wonderful skin care and makeup are Cheekies Cream Blushes ($20.00 each for a 1/2 oz. tube) and Lash Lovies Cream Mascaras ($18.00 each for a .28 oz. tube).

Cheekies are cute little tubes of cream-to-powder blush that are easy to apply and look really natural (you just need the tiniest bit). These work best when used with a liquid or cream foundation or on top of moisturizer. You can also apply them under a light application of loose powder or powder foundation.

Cheekies are packaged in a clear plastic tube along with a sponge-tipped wand that looks like an eyeshadow applicator on steroids. The colors are soft and believable: "yours for keeps" is the lightest cotton candy-pink, "gotta crush on you" is a soft peach, "crazy in love" is a pretty rose and "head over heels" is a true hot-pink.

For a casual no-brainer weekend face, you can't go wrong with tinted moisturizer, a BeneFit Cheekie - my favorite is "crazy in love," some mascara and gloss. Perfection!

Lash Lovies Cream Mascaras involve a bit more effort and patience. This is definitely a retro product. If I had to contend with applying cake or cream mascara on a daily basis, I'd need a lifetime supply of Valium to ease my stress!

Lash Lovies are not for the faint of heart. The colors are vibrant and shimmering: "swoonderful" is a swimming-pool aqua, "infatuation" is a vibrant blue, "breathless" is a bright purple and "smitten" is a burgundy/cranberry shade. You spread a small (by small, I mean minuscule!) amount onto the accompanying mini mascara wand and apply. If you want dramatic, colorful lashes, apply one or two coats from base to tip.

For a less obvious, playful bit of color, apply one thin coat over some black or other dark shade of mascara, or just a bit on the tips of your lashes. Once you get the hang of the application process, or after a couple of cocktails, Lash Lovies are a breeze to use. A bit of "breathless" or "smitten" applied lightly over a coat of black mascara made my green eyes really "pop."
