BeneFit
report by Tina of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
When I received my package filled with BeneFit items I couldn't wait to open it. There's nothing better than new cosmetics, let alone new BeneFit cosmetics! Below is a review of three brand new products from BeneFit; the Island Hot Pots are not even in a lot of stores yet!
Dandelion ($26)
This is a sheer pink powder that comes in a cute cardboard box with a small brush that fits inside. Dandelion is supposed to perk up a dull complexion by using such ingredients as talc and mica. I swept the non-dusty powder all over my face and noticed a very subtle luminosity. However, I found that it settled into the fine lines in my forehead. I liked the way it made my skin look from a distance, but not up close. I do not think I'll be using this product again.
Island Hot Pots Powder Eye Shadows ($18 each)
I never wear eye shadow because one, it tends to get in between my eyes and my contacts, and two, I think unless you use at least two shades for depth, it's not worth it, and I don't have enough time for that. But I gave this powder shadow a try for the sake of giving a review. They come in the cutest little round, tortoise shell compact with a mirror inside. They do not come with an applicator. There are currently three different shades: Come-On-A To My Cabana, a pale, shimmery peach; Hung Up In A Hammock, a pale, shimmery brown; and Put The Lime In The Coconut, a pale, shimmery yellow. I didn't find anything special about these eye shadows. Their staying power was average. Their gliding ability was average. The colors looked average. Again, I think I'll have to pass on this product.
Island Hot Pots Lip Creams ($18 each)
These come in the same exact type of compact as the Island Hot Pots Powder Eye shadows with no applicator. The three current shades are: Nude-A In Bermuda, a pale, shimmery beige; Undertow! Where'd My Bikini Go?, a pale, shimmery pink; and Jamaica Me Crazy, a pale, shimmery brown. These lip creams were, well, creamy! They can be layered for a sheer or opaque look. I liked the way they glided on my lips and did not make them feel too sticky. However, I didn't like how they disappeared after only one meal. I do not think I will be purchasing these lip creams again.
Wearing Dandelion, Island Hot Pots Shadow and Island Hot Pots Lip Cream all at once didn't make me feel Summery at all like they're intended. In fact, I felt like I had been attacked by a Snow Man and lost. All in all I was pretty disappointed by these new BeneFit products.
