Burt's Bees
report by Lisa of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel

Greetings fellow cosmetic junkies! I am pleased to provide you with reviews for assorted products from the Burt's Bees line of skin and body care. I first discovered Burt's Bees a while back when I tried their wonderfully effective beeswax lip balm. Based in North Carolina, Burt's Bees uses only all-natural ingredients, and does not test on any of our fuzzy friends. Overall, I was impressed with the simplicity (and affordability!) of this line, not to mention the aesthetic value of the charming packaging. Burt's Bees has a great website (burtsbees.com) where you can purchase a wide range of their products. I also snagged a few items from Beauty First here in Columbus, OH, and from the supremely fabulous Amy T. (user ID: Tocchet) of Ebay cosmetic auction fame.

Burt's Lavender Complexion Mist (4 oz for around $7)
This complexion mist for normal skin contains essential oils of lavender, cedar, and bergamot orange. It smells amazing, and really does a nice job of calming redness, hydrating, and generally perking-up tired skin. Keep it in your desk drawer at work, and use it as a morning and afternoon pick-me-up, and be sure to stash it in your travel tote. You can even blend it with your regular face lotion (I love adding it to my BeneFit Daily Hyaluronic Cream) for added benefits. Your skin will love it, and at such a great price, you can afford to be generous.

Green Goddess Bright Eyes Tea Bags (7 applications for around $8)
You soak these pads in warm water for a few minutes just like tea bags! After gently blotting them with a paper towel, and allowing them to chill in the freezer for about 10 minutes, apply, and then relax for 15-20 minutes.

Ahhhhhhhh!

Your eyes will love this mixture of herbal extracts including blue vervain, lemon verbena, and eyebright leaf. These pads de-puff, minimize dark circles, and gently moisturize the eye area. Your stress will melt away like Haagen-Dazs on a summer day.

Orange Essence Cleansing Cream (4 oz for around $9)
Unfortunately, this cleansing cream just wasn't the best match for my skin. This orange-scented cleanser is a super-rich formula, which would be great for drier skin types. While it did a fair job of removing my makeup, I took issue with the fact it can't be used to remove eye makeup (I did try it, but it was mighty sting-y!). I prefer a cleanser that removes everything in one easy step.

Coconut Foot Crème (4 oz for around $9)
This foot cream smells absolutely divine - mostly coconut with a hint of peppermint and rosemary! This glycerin formula contains vitamin E, olive oil, lanolin, and essential oil for tootsies that are BEYOND soft! Apply this thick formula to your feet before bed and cover with cotton socks. Wake up with fab feet.
