report by Melinda of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel When I saw the ad for the latest foundation from Clarins, Ultra Satin (£16), in one of my "women's magazines", I knew I had to run right out and get a sample. Well, not only did I get a sample, but I bought a bottle of the stuff! I've been using it for over a month now, and am very happy with it. The benefits are:
Additionally, Clarins Ultra Satin Foundation has a creamy but light texture which is equally easy to apply with sponge (provided in the box) or fingers. (I prefer applying foundation with my fingers, as most of it seems to disappear into the sponge rather than on my face!) The only complaint I have is that there is a limited range of shades, five or six, which is very limited in today's market. I hope Clarins has plans to bring out more shades. I'm a pale blonde, and the "01" shade, the lightest, was barely a match for me. Note: It is important to gently shake the bottle every now and then, as, if you don't, you'll get a bit of separation in the foundation between the colour and the clear liquid (oil? Or water?). All in all, a good foundation choice for those of us with less than perfect skin who nevertheless want to adopt the latest trend for sheer looking makeup.
