report by Lisa L. of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel Despite the fact that I need another shade of lipstick like I need a hole in the head (and what makeup enthusiast does :), sheer WANT drove me to the Clinique counter to investigate their new SPF 15 Liquid Lipstick ($12.50). On the whole, I Like Liquid Lipstick. I like the semi-opaque, semi-glossy finish it provides because I usually find that traditional lipgloss tries to crawl off my lips, and onto areas of my face that it does not belong. I have been using Rouge Pulp by L'Oreal since it came out with good success, and with it's user-friendly price tag, I could afford to buy more than one. While I sometimes found that the coverage was a bit uneven, I was willing to work with it because the colors were so nice. I wasn't sure how different the formulations of Liquid Lipstick could be, so I admit I initially cringed when I forked over twice as much moo-la for the Clinique than what I would pay for the L'Oreal. But my quest for cosmetic perfection reminded me that if I didn't like it, I could tell the loyal readers of The Cosmetic Connection of my dismay. Boy, was I suprised! This formula is really wonderful. The color I chose was "Plushy," a nice pinky-mauve that looks "natural with a little va-voom." The neat thing about the Clinique Liquid Lipstick that sets it apart from the competition is the way it "melts" into your lips, and covers evenly. The SPF is also a really nice bonus. As usual, my only complaint was the limited color selection...the colors offered were nice, mind you, I just would like to see more of them! All in all, a really nice product that is worth the price. Go on girl, you know you need another lipcolor :) review: 9/24/99
