Darphin
report by Adele of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
After reviewing the Darphin skincare for the face, I have since tried their body range. I haven't quoted any prices this time as I have since found out they differ quite substantially in different countries.
Make no mistake, Darphin is not a cheap and cheerful range, however it is good to treat yourself once in a while. If you keep dropping the name into conversations with your nearest and dearest they may just get the hint - after all, Christmas is not far off!
The body products I tried are great for a night-in pampering or a real "feel good" start to the day. These are all what I would call the basic essentials as there are a good few other products that address specific problems. Here we go!
Aromatic Exfoliating Body Cream
This is a speckled blue paste and a little goes a long way. It should be used on slightly damp skin and rubbed in circular upward movements from ankle to hip and from hip to chest, and so on (not the face). It smells healthy and once you have rinsed it off you feel fresh and ready for your bath or shower. I really like this product.
Silhouette Tonic Bath Oil
This is very concentrated, and a couple of drops in the bath are more than enough. You can also use this oil directly on your skin before you bathe/shower. I actually used it after exfoliating. I wiped off excess water and massaged the oil onto my legs, which are particularly dry, and over the hip area. The oil is a natural toner and firmer (at my thirtysomething age I'll try any firming product!).
Seaweed Aromatic Bath Gel
This is ocean blue in colour as opposed to what you might expect with seaweed extract. It also contains lemon and together the ingredients create a significant, but not strong, feel-good scent. Again, a little goes a long way so it will last.
Aromatic Hydroactive Body Lotion
This is silky smooth and contains aloe. It is very easy to massage into the skin and has the same lovely scent as the bath/shower gel. Unfortunately I didn't think it was rich enough on its own for the drier skin on my legs, which need extra help.
Aromatic Beauty Body Spray
This is gorgeous, with passionflower, gentian and witch hazel. It is refreshing and not overpowering and can be sprayed all over your body. It will last the whole day and puts the final touches to your mini-pampering.
As you may have gathered, I am definitely hooked on Darphin at the moment and the response from many of you who have now tried the facial products indicates that you may be, too!
