Freeman Skin+ Vitamin C Skin Care
report by Alissa of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
Freeman Skin+ is a line of skin care products containing Vitamins C, A, E, and B5. There is a strong emphasis on Vitamin C, which you will notice on both the packaging and the strong citrusy fragrance. The idea behind Freeman Skin+ is to give the skin a healthier, younger looking appearance. Great concept, but unfortunately I was disappointed with most of their products. I tried five of the seven products (I didn't try the Self-Tanner+SPF8 or Anti-Wrinkle Cream) whose prices ranged from $5.99-$8.99.
Cleanser+Toner (8fl.oz.)
This gel cleanser and toner in one did not remove all my makeup, which is what I would expect from a product of this sort. It did not overdry my skin, which was a definite plus, however, I did notice my skin breaking out more than usual. I don't know if this was because I had an adverse reaction to this product, or if it was deep cleaning my skin. Either way, I don't like a cleanser that causes my skin to break out (who does?). I would skip this cleanser and toner in one and use a good cleanser (such as Bath and Body Works Face) with a good toner if I felt my skin needed it.
Moisturizer+SPF15 (2.5 oz.)
I like an oil-free moisturizer that does double duty, which this product does. However, if you wear moisturizer under your make up, this is not one to use. It left my skin looking greasy and interfered with my make up. I did use it on its own with just powder and it worked fine. I would recommend this product if you just want a basic, inexpensive moisturizer that contains an SPF.
Pore Masque+Clarifier (2.5 oz.)
I liked this product and would recommend it to those of you who have oily skin. This peel off mask has a glue like texture which may be frightening at first but will give the skin a healthy glow afterwards. Another advantage this mask has over other masks is that it can be used daily. However, I would not recommend this product to those of you who have blemishes or highly sensitive skin. Peel off masks are never a good idea for sensitive or blemished skin.
Nightly Serum (1fl.oz.)
I am not a big user of nightly creams or serums, so I did not have any expectations about this product. The Serum is lightweight, but the heavy citrus fragrance is a turn-off. When I am trying to sleep at night, the last thing I want is to smell like an orange. I also did not notice any difference in my skin. If you don't use night creams or serum, I wouldn't start with this one. If you use them, don't try this one.
Eye Cream (.5 oz.)
This product is supposed to help with puffiness and dark circles, but I didn't notice much of a change in my eyes. I felt this product was too lightweight for me. With my dark circles and puffiness, I need a heavier eye cream. I would pass on this product.
