report by Marissa of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel I had always loved reading Kevyn's column in Allure magazine and was very saddened when I learned that such a talented man passed away so young. I remember always going right to his column when I picked up Allure, because he always had such positive things to say. My favorite columns were when he showed his before and after photos of women he "made up." Some were transformed into an entirely different image, and for others, he just enhanced their features. But no matter what he did, something in their personality would always shine through. So, when I read that he was in the process of coming out with his own make-up line and that the line was going to continue, I really wanted to try his products. I finally got the chance and now they're right up there on my favorites list! First, let's start with his lipsticks, or as they're called Expert Lip Tints. First and foremost, they don't have that icky smell which puts them right to the top of my list! The colors go on like a glossy lipstick, but stain the lips with just the right color. I tried Enchantaberry, Moonbiba and Katanatura. Don't let the color of the lipstick fool you... Moonbiba is DARK in the tube and goes on for a sheer blackberry look. Keep applying and the tint gets darker. That's what I really like about these lipsticks; you can control the intensity of the color. Enchantaberry is a deeper, brighter color of your own lips and Katanatura is a sheer tawny color. If I had enough money, I would have bought all three, but I chose the Enchantaberry. I put it on twice during the afternoon, and my lips still looked great with color at 8PM. Really, these lipsticks just feel good on your lips, not heavy at all. I'm putting the other colors on my Christmas list and hope that someone in my family has the good sense to buy them for me! The other product that I tried and loved was The Sensual Skin Enhancer. Now, from what I had read, it was thick and goopy and rather hard to blend but made your skin look well, sensual. So, that was good enough for me. Lately, I've been into foundations to make my skin look flawless... anyway, the woman who was helping me choose the right color gave me a great tip that made using this foundation a breeze. She said if I was going to use it more as a spot concealer or undereye concealer then I should just put a dot under one eye and blend…don't put under both eyes, just do one at a time. Once I tried that, I had no problem blending the foundation. And, trust me, a TINY dot goes a long way. I only used it under my eyes and on a few red spots on my chin and it looks like my skin is perfect. This is only one of two concealers that really work for me... Kevyn's just makes my eyes pop. (the other concealer is from the Kanebo line of cosmetics, and I'll be doing that review soon!) This skin enhancer doesn't creep into the skin around your eyes or make your eyes look cakey. I actually look wide awake! You can buy Kevyn Aucoin Beauty products from Neiman Marcus online. Give these products a try... I guarantee you that once you try them, they'll end up on your favorites list too! review: 12/03
