Ramy Beauty Therapy
report by Judith of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel

I've been wearing Ramy Beauty Therapy's "Hint of a Tint! Miracle Blush" since I wrote about it in March. I like this product so much, that I decided to try more of Ramy's product line.

Elixir Skin Conditioning Primer ($40) is a clear, silicone based skin primer which is used under your foundation or powder. I wasn't sure I would like having this on my skin, as I was afraid it would be too oily, but it works like a dream and creates a perfectly smooth foundation for Ramy's excellent Elixir Liqui-Powder Foundation ($35).

I'm not a "powder person" so I wasn't sure if I would like a liquid powder, but this is unlike any other foundation I've tried. Usually, I find that powder settles into every line on my (aging) face! This foundation is truly a liquid, which must first be shaken up, and which is then applied with a little spatula which is affixed to the cap. While all of this might sound like it would be heavy, this is one of the lightest foundations that I have tried in a long time. It literally melts into your skin and dries to a beautifully matte finish! I tried "Diva Creme Fresh!", which was a perfect match.

In addition to Ramy's Hint of a Tint! Miracle Blush, he also offers a powder blush ($19) called "Alive", which is a pinkish brown powder that can be used on both cheeks and eyes.

In keeping with the trend of multi-use products are nifty little containers of Face Gloss ($18.50), containing a glossy product that can be used on lips, cheeks and eyes, without looking the same on each. I tried "Face Candy!", an irridescent mauvey pink, and "Inner Glow!", a rosy beige. I've used, and like, both of these for blush and lipgloss.

For the eyes, Ramy's philosophy of "minimum makeup, maximum impact!" follows through. Eye shadow ($12) is offered in only four neutral shades of beige to brown. I tried, Golden Glow 1, a light peachy beige; Neutral Impact!, a medium taupe brown and Wink!, a sparkly reddish brown.

Perfect! is a cake eyeliner ($12), which comes in one neutral shade of brown/black and which can be used wet or dry with equal success. All of these products are simple to use and produce very natural results.

Ramy's lipsticks are still at the top of my favorite lipstick list, with Kvetch being my very favorite. In addition, I also love Celebrate, a beige shimmer, and Racy!, which is a fantastic reddish/mauvey/brown. (All of the proceeds from Racy! are given to the Susan G. Komen New York Race for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation.)

Ramy, who is the cosmetic advisor on ivillage.com, sells his products through his web page at ramybeautytherapy.com and at gloss.com. You can also purchase these products at the Ramy Beauty Therapy counter at Bergdorf Goodman in New York and at locations in Boston, London and Toronto.

I was so impressed that when I wrote the contact email address on his web site asking questions about some of these products. Ramy promptly answered me himself! (That's truly great customer service, IMHO!) I'm definitely a most satisfied customer!

Happy Shopping!
