Sonia Kashuk
report by Gayle of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
What's all this hype about Sonia Kashuk cosmetics? Well, I've seen it
advertised in magazines and the Target Sunday sale ad, so I just had to
drive over there and get me some.
The Sonia display was plain but modern looking. The products available
are foundation (liquid and powder), face powder (pressed and loose), blush
(cream and powder), eye shadow, lipstick and various makeup tools. I
chose the face powder, eye shadow and lipstick.
Bare Minimum Pressed Powder ($7.99)
The color selection was very limited. I chose Chiffon, which is a light
yellow based color. I like the slim silver compact with the big mirror
inside. It's easy to fit in your purse and doesn't take up much space.
The color was a little too light for me but it did tone down the redness
of my skin. If you are looking for a good face powder, this one may be
it.
Enhance Eye Color ($4.99)
I LOVE this eyeshadow! And the price is so right! Again, the color
selection was limited but I found a couple of colors I just had to have.
I chose Moonstone, which is a lovely brownish gold color, and Gunmetal,
a grey color. I've been looking for an eyeshadow with long
staying power and this is it. I wore it with and without priming my
eyelids and it lasted all day without any creases. I like the little
sleek silver compacts which have a little mirror inside too. For the
price, you can bet I'll be buying additional colors to add to my already
huge collection. :-)
Luxury Lip Color ($5.99)
I had a hard time choosing the right lip color. There were a lot of
colors to choose from, in both mattes and frosted. I settled on Petal,
which is a mauvy pink color. I really like the silver tube it came in. I
found I had to reapply often especially after eating and drinking. My
lips felt a little dry after using so I don't think this lipstick is
highly moisturized. This lipstick is okay but nothing I would get too
excited about.
Sonia Kashuk cosmetics are great if you are on a budget. I like the
packaging and the fact that they are made in Italy. I hope she adds more
colors to the line, though. My next trip to Target will be soon and I
can't wait to get some more of those eyeshadows.
