Tony & Tina
report by Jennifer of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
I have been wanting to try Tony & Tina for some time. I have seen it everywhere from Nordstrom to local boutiques.
Herbal Eye Makeup Remover
I have to start by saying that each product I was sent was completely over scented. And not with soothing aroma therapeutic properties as touted! So the first thing I did was check the ingredient listing. Unfortunately, I could not get to it. You see, at the bottom of the bottle is a round sticker with the barcode, product name and company address. The ingredient listing was actually under this first sticker. Talk about consumer unfriendly. At the time of this writing I still cannot separate the two stickers to see what lies beneath. So, I do my duty and get set to review. I believe that to truly and objectively review any product, one must use the product several times, right? Let's just say I did not even use this twice. Upon my first use, I followed the directions and nearly burned my eyes right out of their sockets. I cannot believe this is sold as an eye makeup remover. When I tell you my eyes burned, that is an understatement. OUCH!! I can hardly believe this product is even on the market!
Herbal Aromatherapy Cleanser
This is even more heavily scented than the make up remover, yet there is no fragrance listed on the ingredients listing other than grapefruit fragrance, which I think is rather misleading. Does that mean it comes from a real grapefruit or is this the name that the fragrance house they bought it from calls it? Smells more like a synthetic fragrance than anything natural or therapeutic. With that said, the cleanser does clean and did leave a nice, silky feeling, however I could not get past the scent. So for those of you that like a strong scent you may want to try it, but PLEASE smell before you buy!
Power Boost Shower Gel
Sorry, but again the scent ruins it. This has a very strong pine scent, more like a household cleaner. There is nothing invigorating about it!
Tony & Tina is available at Nordstrom, Sephora.com and tonytina.com.
