Tony & Tina
report by Debbie of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel
Tony & Tina is definitely a unique line, based on the Chakra system. There are seven main energy centers in our bodies and each holds a life lesson that we must master as we mature and evolve. The Chakras vibrate at a frequency matching the frequency of their corresponding color. While I do believe in holistic ways, I am not sure wearing any of Tony & Tina felt any different than any other line I have tried, but it's a fun line to explore.
Herbal Rescue Foundation ($28.00)
I found this foundation to be very light in texture and coverage but evens out the skintone just enough, for those of you who like a light touch. There are a ton of botanical ingredients in this foundation ranging from Burdock, White Nettle, and St. John's Wort to the more common Vitamin C. There is definitely a smell of botanicals that I can't say is pleasant but doesn't linger once applied to the face. I have owned 11 foundations at once and would have to say this will not be one I will be adding to my collection. If someone wants a light touch and a foundation that won't cause breakouts and is good for oily skin, then you might take a look at this one, otherwise you would be best to keep looking.
Therapeutic Eye Base $22.00
You can use this for either a concealer or eye base. I wanted to like this product as it contains lots of herbal ingredients: Cucumber, Chamomile, Horse Chestnut, Japanese Green Tea, Lavender, Aloe, Vitamin E, Pomegranate and Allantoin. Personally I found this failed in both areas for me. It was too light to conceal my eye circles and too moisturizing to hold my eyeshadow onto my lid without creasing throughout the day. It also claims to diminish the appearance of fine lines and reduce puffiness, which again I didn't find.
Glitter Eye Pencil ($18.00)
I thought at 40 I couldn't wear glitter/shimmer unless it was the holiday or special occasion, but this product proved me wrong. The makeup artist insisted I would look great with this pencil and to my surprise he was correct. It combines color with glitter and gives your eye that *special* touch. These pencils are made with Chickweed to help fight eye irritation and infection, Chamomile to soothe sensitive skin, Cucumber to firm, Aloe and Vitamin E to moisturize. I don't know that any of those ingredients do anything but if this glitter gets into your eye there is no irritation unlike other lines out there.
Cosmic Lights ($12.00)
This is a sparkle/glitter eye product that has mystical names with corresponding definitions. My favorite cosmic light is Transcendence, which is iridescent with a violet undertone and its "meaning" is "attracts positive universal light." Well, I don't know about its "cosmic" powers but it is a gorgeous lavender/purple that adds that special something to any eyelid. Best to apply this product on top of a Vitamin E stick for the best staying power.
Herbal Aromatherapy Lipgloss ($14.00)
This product reads like a food list: Macadamia Nut oil, Soybean Oil, Shea Butter, Carrot Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, then throw in a couple of vitamins A and E and a few extra ingredients and you have an "herbal" lipgloss that has shine but is not sticky.
