Too Faced Cosmetics
report by Nava of the Cosmetic Connection Product Panel

I first spotted Too Faced's funky nail polishes at Henri Bendel's. I loved the old fashioned bottles with the mischievous eyes painted on them. The colors were brash and brazen with kitschy names like Trophy Wife, Love Hangover and (everyone's favorite) Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. A line of lipsticks soon followed.

I stumbled across Too Faced's website (www.toofaced.com) recently and saw they expanded their line to include eye shadows and lip glosses. Upon further investigation, I saw the colors looked pretty interesting. They were also offering free shipping. Much more convenient than trekking back to Bendel's. Here's what I ordered:

Hoochie & Miss Thing Lipsticks ($13.50 each)
Hoochie is a shimmering, mauvey brown. A little edgier than I expected, but very flattering. Miss Thing is pearly beige that does a good job lightening up darker lipsticks. I wouldn't suggest wearing this one by itself, unless the "pasty" look is what you're going for. Both lipsticks tasted faintly of chocolate and had good staying power.

Bauble Gloss Rings in Lolli & Bubble ($12.00 each)
These are just the cutest little plastic rings! They lighten up your cosmetic bag by transforming your lip gloss into jewelry. Surprisingly, the colors are very wearable and taste yummy. Bubble is a peach flavored, frosty peach color and Lolli is a coconut flavored, shimmery lilac. Both look great on my fair skin.

Slip-N-Slide Gloss Compact ($13.00)
In the compact, the color of this gloss looks almost identical to Hoochie lipstick, but it goes on sheerer and subtler. This immediately became one of my favorite lip glosses. It tastes like a Mocha Latte and looks even better.

George & Weezie Duo Eye Shadow ($13.00)
One side is a frosty bronze, the other a pearly beige. I must emphasize the word "frosty" in my description. These shadows do not shimmer, they sparkle. They really made my hazel eyes "pop," but I found this look to be too dramatic for daytime. However, take "George & Weezie" out for the evening and they'll make sure you look great.

Glamour Puss & Purrr Single Eye Shadows ($11.50 each)
Glamour Puss is a shimmering mauvey taupe and Purrr is a matte eggshell. Purrr is a great all purpose highlighter and Glamour Puss is perfect for a polished, unfussy daytime look.

Trophy Wife & Love Hangover Nail Lacquers ($9.50 each)
Love Hangover is a burgundy-red pearl and Trophy wife is an in-your-face red with red sparkles. Both equally dazzling on manicured fingers and toes.

Too Faced is the most fun I've had with make-up in a long time. They've struck the perfect balance between funky and wearable. You can actually do both with this line, which is what makes it so appealing. In keeping with the Too Faced attitude: "Beauty is a Curse. Take your 15 minutes of fame every 15 minutes, and invent yourself." I didn't make this stuff up - it's on the packaging!

Happy Shopping!
